SOCIAL AT MANGAHAO.

On Friday, September 6, a most successful . social was held jat the T.M.C.A., Mangahao. The hall was nicely decorated, and the floor in good condition for dancing. A party of entertainers travelled From Shannon hy means of a lorry, and the items given by the visitors were of a high' order and greatly appreciated by all. A splendid supper was handed round, and dancing was continued for some time.

Mr Campbell, secretary in charge, acted as chairman, and Mr Macnamara, secretary for the local union, in a brief and fitting speech, thanked the visitors for their performance, and expressed a wish that they would soon return to Mangahao. The motor lorry was driven by Mr Geminell, a very careful driver. The following contributed towards the programme: Solos,' Misses Aim, Wafterson and Jones, Mrs Gibson, Mr Gibson; pianoforte solos, Miss Aim and Miss Merwood; violin solos, Mr Merwood and Mr Miller.
