THE SPRINGBOK MATCH
AT PALMERSTON ON WEDNESDAY
Football enthusiasts throughout the coast districts are anticipating with a good deal o£ interest, the. meeting between the Springboks and combined Manawatu-Horowhenua at Palmerston North on Wednesday. The combined fifteen had an opportunity on Saturday of showing their mettle against a Wellington team, and they did it well, putting up the solid total of 58 noints before the game was over. Their display surprised the onlookers, and it is evident they will give the redoubtable visitors a much closer game than was anticipated. The combined team, which is now in steady training at Palmerston,_ has the valuable assistance of .J. Ryan *as coach, and as the team will doubtless go uri improving up till the time of the match, a great game should result on Wednesday. For the convenience of residents in the Horowhenua district, the usual morning train will be delayed, and reach Levin at 9.8, Shannon 9.35, and arrive Palmerston 10.18. The return train will leave Palmerston at 5.10.
