HOROWHENUA REFEREES.

A meeting- ol the Horowhenua Referees’ Association was held on Saturday evening. Present: Messrs, w. Thomson (chairman), J. Rhodes,, J. W. Procter and V. Higgins (secretary).

The. chairman stated that he refereed the Hui Mai-Kuku match that day, and the line umpire had reported J. Heremaia for refusing to keep hack from the line.

The secretary stated that the Horowhenua Rugby Union had received a notice from the New Zealand Union to the effect that that body could not alter its decision regarding free passes to referees to all parts/of the grounds during the Springbok match. Those who had reserved tickets should apply for the rebate.

The secretary stated that as he was leaving the district shortly he wished to tender his resignation, and that the next meeting would be the last at which he would be present. On the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr Rhodes, the resignation was accepted with-regret.
