MANAKAU HERD OF SIXTY AVERAGES £25 15s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency ’ Co., Ltd., report having conducted a most successful clearing sale on account of Mr James Nicholson, at the farm, Manakau, on Wednesday. There was a good attendance of buyers present, and the herd, which consisted mostly of wellbred Jerseys in nice condition, met with a keen demand.. The herd of 60 averaged (barring 4 cull cows which were, sold at from £5 to £10) £25 25s per head. The auctioneers quote: Cows just calved £2O to £35 10s, best springing cows £3O to £4O, medium do. £24 to £2B MOs, - September, and October calvers £l7 10s to £3B ' 810 s cows milked through the winter and' due again in March £l6 10s to £23. aged spring-cart gelding £26, light gig £ll 10s, yearling heifers (line) £7. On account of outside vendor, dairy cows sold from £8 to £27 10s.
