PIGS IN DEMAND.

PRICES VERY FIRM. •Pigs commanded more attention than any other ciass oi stock at Tuesday’s sale, and prices were very mm, wan an upward tendency, weaners have improved out of sight during the last t.wo months, and stores have also made a solid advance. Within a fortnight weaners have risen 5s to 7s 6d per head, yesterday’s prices reaching 23s and 30s, with the entry quickly sold out. Stores are another good saleable proposition just now, and made up. to £2 10s and £2 12s for well . grown animals, for which the inquiry was good. Breeding sows, of which there .was a larger, number'than usual forward s were another line that commanded good values. Although a special lot of prime ewes made 20s 9d, .the general run of prices was below last week, 16s lOd being the best for wethers, as against 19s rid, at. the. previous sale. Lambs and hoggets brought the most spirited bidding, and nearly all these lines sold at fair prices.
