DAIRY PRODUCE MARKETS.
WHAT COMPANIES ARE DOING. BEST PRICES YET. A few weeks ago buyers \vere not i making any offers at all for the new season’s output of dairy produce. Rut with the sudden improved tone in the market the scene has changed. They are now, reported to be nibbling well at tjtie various factories, and directors are, thinking har'd. Several factories have decided to consign through .various agencies. Good offers are, said to have been made to some of the Hawke's Bay and Manawatu lactones. The directors of one of the latter are stated to have signed up recently for a very satisfactory price. The Rangiotu Dairy Factory Company has disposed of its coming season’s output of cheese at lo|d f.o.b. Wellington, to overseas buyers. A contract has also been entered into by the Maungawhata .Co-op. Dairy Company for its cheese output. The price to be paid to this company is much higher than that of Rangiotu, but the actfial figure has not yet. been announced. It is' stated the best offers so far made this year Have been lljd for cheese (equal to sd' per lb more than the best price paid during the war), and 2s (equal to 2s Id per lb f.0.b.) for butter to the end of October. It is considered bujtter t will go higher than this. ~4" 4 .
