GOLF NOTES.

RESULT OF MEDAL MATCH. Last Saturday a large number of ladies aud gentlemen players competed in a medal match lor -July, but owing to heavy showers later m the afternoon it was possible lor only two of the men to complete the eighteen holes. The ladies, however, finished their competition of nine holes, and on Wednesday, which was a perfect day for golf, those players who eoula not take part in the game on Saturday completed, their various rounds. The greens are in better order than they have been all the season, and under the care of a competent groundsman they are rapidly improving. The result of the medal matches are as lows:Ladies—Mrs Saxon with a net score of 39. Gentlemen: Mr W. Quarrie with 91.' Other good cards were handed In by Mrs Law*, Mrs Morgan, Mrs Johnston, Miss Wilkins, Miss Dunckley, and by Mr Anderson and Mr Ilook. To-morrow (Saturday )a match will be played between ' teams picked by the President and Secretary respectively, and all intending players are requested to be on the ground as soon as possible after 1.30 p.m.
