SHANNON MANNERS.
(To the Editor.) ' Sir,—As a visitor to Shannon, I 'wish to call to, your notice some 'of the Shannon manners which are championed bv' someone' whb' signs himself “Common Sense,” but whose ifirae should be something else, as he shows himself most, ignorant. My experience is that I have never seen a rougher crowd than the young men ; of, this town (if iown it can be called). They crowd and crush to the ticket, office or stand about criticising every one passing on the street:The o + her evening I went in early in the -the crowd, expecting the “Picture Palace” to he full, but found there were only twenty persons inside, and a large number of the Shannon gem tie-mannered' roughs in the porch. But wfHit can one expect from the youth' of this place when they have elders with the brain. capacity of “Common Sense”?—l. am, etc., A VISITOR TO SHANNON.
