MAKERUA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The adjourned householders’ meeting for Makerua took place on Monday evening in the School, and was probably the best represented meet- • ing that has been held. A very capable committee was elected from present, viz.: Mrs Smith, Mrs Russell, and Messrs. Russell, Smith, and Shearman. Alter the general ' meeting, the committee elected Mrs Smith chairwoman, and Mrs Russell secretary. The flaxmills in this district, which have been closed down for some time, are -again in full swing.
