LEVIN STOCK MARKET.
*—. ~A LIFELESS SALE. The Levin sale yesterday saw a moderate yarding, and except that weaner pigs were in greater request at advanced prices, the market was dull! The pig entry was small, and the bulk of the porkers was passed in. Few sales were made, there being an absence of outside buyers. The sheep were comprised mostly of fats, and these met a fair demand, but last week’s level was hardly maintained for the best classes, though a small entry of prime show sheep were passed at 27s 6d. Cattle were again a poor entry, ail'd little business was transacted. A few dairy cows were offered, a Jersey cross heifer at drop reaching £l6 15s. showing that likely sorts near profit- are in request. Pigs.—Weaners, 5s 6d to 7s and 9s 6d to 10s 6d, all lots being cleared. Only a few pens of small porkers sold at from 26s to £2 7s. Sheep.—Maiden ewes and wethers 16s 2d to 16s lid, fat lambs 8s to 14s, fat ewes 12s, 12s lOd to 13s. Cattle—Fat heifer £B, fat cow £5 10s, yearling heifers 265, forward cows £2 14s, store cows 34s to £2, yearling calves 7s 6d. Jersey cross heifer at' drop £l6 15s.
