A BRIGHTER OUTLOOK. 1 A Makdrua miller informed a, News representative yesterday that the present position M of the hemp market was better than it had been for some time past, England would soon be a buyer again. During the war the high freights ruling had shut out a lot of English competition, and the -bulk of the New Zealand output Had gone to American and Australian manufacturers. The freight rates had greatly improved of late, so that the Bri- ’ isb buyer would be competing. with the Australians and Americans, to the benefit of the industry in this country. The local mills would bo running again shortly with fairly good prospects ahead. The fizzling out of the coal trouble would also have a beneficial effect on the industry in the did Country.
