Melbourne, Feb. 28.
This was a dull morning at Flemington, but some excellent gallops preparatory to the Newmarket Handicap were executed, Chatham, All There, Swordbearer, Antaeus, Sprig o’ Myrtle, Bungebab, Bnccleuch, and The Harbour Light all performing splendidly. Bungebah and Bucoleuch put up the beat six furlongs, which they finished in 1 min 18sec. Sprig o’ Myrtle took half a second longer, while Agtaeus wound up the distance very comfortably iu Imin 19aec. Sprig o’ Myrtle traversed eleven iurlohgs altogether, finishing in 2min 28|aec. The Admiral fairly revelled over a mile and a half in 2min 43|aec. Cataoola finished a mile and three-quarters in 3min 13sec, and Portsea two miles in 3min 42|aec. Bunge, bah has advanced to 100 to 10 for the 'Newmarket Handicap, and Bucoleuch receded to 100 to 8.
