TIM ABU N AVALS V. NAPISE NAVALS. A friendly shooting match between teams representing the Timaru and Napier Naval Artillery was fired on tbeir respective ranges on Thursday. Lieutenant Thomas watched the interests of the Napier men on the Timaru range, and Lieutenant Gooch those of the Timaru team on the Napier range. The weather on the Timaru range was all that could bo desired by a shooting team. The Timaru men made one of the largest totals ever scored by any volunteer team on a New Zealand range. Their score of 71° makes a record for South Canterbury, The Napier score is not yet to band, but will be published as soon as it is received. The conditions of the match wore ten men a-side j seven shots at 200 yards, 300 yards, and 500 yards ; any position. The following are the scores of the
