City men consider the idea of the Imperial Government being asked to guarantee a loan for a responsible colony ridiculous ; and, moreover, it is not believed that the Queensland people would consent to any each thing. (Received 1 a.m., Feb. 17th.) February 16. The Bank of England has invited the Baring guarantors to extend their guarantee for a yeti*. The Committee of the Senate favour the establishment of 3 per cent, bonds to maintain the gold reserve. London, Feb. 18.
