(By Telegeaph.) CHRISTCHURCH, Fbb. 16. 1245 people left by train for the lake. The Press Association made arrangements for a pigeon express from the lake, but if the wind keeps up it is probable the birds will not be able to face it. The water is high in the lake and a good course was obtained. Keefe’s boat met with an accident and delay was caused while Norton patched it. Amatbub Sculls Championship. Truman bad a good lead on the second lap, but coming to the eastern turn with too much way on, ran out on the grass, and was thus put out of the race. Blackburn had all collared at three-quarters, but entering on the last lap his pedal got foul of a peg, and he also ran out on the grass, leaving Bryne to go on and win easily ; a bad third. Truman and Hall quickly showed prominently, and at the end of a mile Hall had all behind him except Bryne. It took him three quarters of a mile further to get on terms with Bryne, but once be was passed Hall had a very easy task, whining by about 90 yards j others outclissed, Nortn being badly lapped by Hall.
