(Pub Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) (Special to Press Association.) (Received 7.30 p.m., Feb. 10th.) London, Feb. 9. In response to a circular which was issued to the depositors, the Federal Bank has received the first batch of replies representing £120,000 and assent* ing to the voluntary liquidation of the institution with Mr Justice Butt as liquidator. This, however, is contingent on the Bank in Melbourne going into liquidation, as a small creditor has lodged a petition for the compulsory winding up of the affairs of that Bank. Mr Valentine, a butter expert, has been appointed to report on the grading of New South Wales butter and on the industry generally. (Received 1.25 a;m., Feb. 11th.) Adelaide, Feb. 10. The Supreme Court has granted the, petition of the creditor of the Federal Bank for the compulsory winding up of the institution. (By Telegraph.) WELLINGTON, Ebb. 10. The third wool sales for this season was held to-day. About 1600 bales were catalogued, of which a good proportion was lambs’ wool, and about two-thirds of the lots offered wore sold. Both Home and local buyers were well represented, and bidding, especially for the better class of wools, was spirited. For crossbred, beat quality, prices ruled slightly in vendors’ favour, but for faulty, bush-stained, and dingy wools, there was no improvement to record. Fine cross* bred realised up to Bd, coarse ditto from 6d to 7sd, lambs wool up to Bsd, other qualities' from 6d to 7id.
