Geraldine Town Board.
An ordinary meeting of the Geraldine Town Board was bold on Tuesday evening last, all the members being present except Mr Taylor. Outward correspondence was read and approved, and the following inward correspondence was dealt with 5 From Mr C. Green, re removing gone from his section. —Tenders to be called for next board day, and notices to be posted up. From the manager of the Bank of Hew Zealand re fixed deposit. From Mr Baker, requesting permission to erect a verandah.—Granted. From Mr B. F. Fergnsson, asking that bis came be placed on the roll instead of T. Rowe.—Granted. The overseer’s report was read and considered. It was resolved, on the motion of Mr Maslin, seconded by Mr Fergnsson—*' That the mstter reported on by the overseer be attended to by the works committee." Mr Maslin proposed, Mr Williams seconded and it was carried—“ That the sum of £IOO be placed on fixed deposit for twelve months at the Bank of New Zealand." Mr Maslin proposed, Mr Fergnsson seconded, and it was resolved—" That the Domain Board be asked to pay £lO off their 0000001." Proposed by Mr Williams, seconded by Mr Maslin, and earned—" That Mr Pearpoiht's account be paid when found comet." Resolved—" That a letter bo written to Bishop Grimes, re Homan Catholic rates, as all the other religions denominations node? the same circumstances have paid (heir rates." Resolved— " That the rates due by Mrs Andrews and Mr Kirby be remitted." Resolved— 1 " That oil rates of five shillings and upwards now due be ened for without farther notice." Resolved—" That the income of the Board be included in the minutes every month." Matters relating to (he pan system were then considered, and a discussion took place on the Board eolioitor’e letter on the subject. Mr Maslin moved, Mr Hammond seconded, and it was resolved—" That the pas system be adopted within the town district of Geraldine for the removal of night soil; the eame to come: into force on a day to be advertised by the Board " Resolved—" That (He finance committee and clerk prepare specifications lor scavangoring." Resolved—" That the chairman and Mr Maslin inspect the night soil carts at Temuka and Timaru, and invite tenders for a night soil cart.” Accounts amounting to £l6 16s 9d were passed for payment. By resolution the meeting of the board was adjourned for a fortnight. GERALDINE DOMAIN BOARD. A meeting of the Geraldine Domain Board was held on Tuesday evening last. A letter was read from the secretary of the St. Patrick's Day Sports Association, requesting permission to charge an entraaeajfee, &0., for admitting to the park on next sports day. —The application was granted. Resolved—" That £lO be placed to the credit of (he Town Board." Resolved—" That accounts be sent to two’ tenants." The Board thou rose.
