- , -MANAWATU RACES. H. . Palm keston, Dec. 27. , At the Manawatu races yesterday, 3000 persons were present. The weather was favorable, and the principal event was won by Dan. DEATH OF FISHHOOK. Beefton, Deo. 27. In the race for the Inangshua Cup yesterday, the well-known racehorse Fishhook, fell and broke his . leg and had to be shot. Osborne, the rider, broke his arm and received a severe shaking. The races had to bo post* poned owing to tae rain. ALBURY RACES. These races took place yesterday. The weather was wet and the attendance was not largo.
