TEE ENGLISH CRICKETERS IN AUSTRALIA.

The cricket match between the Hon. Ivo Bligh’s team and an eleven of New South Wales was resumed to day, when the Englishmen continued their first innings with eight wickets down and 441 runs to their credit. Barnes and Yernon, the not-out men of Saturday, took their places at the wickets. The former added 12 to bis score, and was then bowled for 24. Barnes was caught for 12, Morley being not out for 2. Total 461. The New South Wales team then commenced their second innings, requiring to make 310 to save a one innings defeat. They, however, only succeeded in putting together another 165, and the English eleven thus won the match by one innings, with .144 runs to spare. The Englishmen thus won the match by one innings and 144 to spare. AUCKLAND V. CANTERBURY. The result of yesterday’s play has left the game still in a very even position. It rained during the night and morning. The Canterbury men played very poorly all the morning and in the luncheon adjournment two hours were wasted. If the Canterbury men are not beaten, it is confidently believed the match will result in a draw. The scores of yesterday’s play are : Auckland—First Innings. THIS DAT, [By Tblegbaph.] [Special to “ S.O. Times.”] The match was resumed at noon to-day Canterbury,with 5 wickets down for 155, sent in Watson, the not out for 52, and Ollivier to the wickeK The latter got three singles, when Watson was caught by Lankham, in the slips, off Gill. 6—52—158. Harman, next man, got a single, and then was caught by Arneill at point. 7—1—159. Barnes followed, and ran the scom up to 164 Ollivier got a single and Barnes was bowled by Lankham, 90—165. Fuller then went in, and Ollivier drove Gill out of bounds for 4, following up by fast scoring at both ends. Fuller cut Lankham for 3 and drove for a single. He was then caught by Barton with his score at 4. The Canterbury innings closed for 180, Ollivier carrying his bat for 15.
