At the conclusion of the final race for the Punch rowing trophies to-day, Rush led by a length and a half, Beach, (second), beating Laycook (third), by. a couple of lengths. Tribkett (fourth)'was last for nearly the whole of the way. The race took place under circumstances, the . river being smooth. It is estimated that fully 20,000 persons witnessed the contest.

At the Victoria Amateur Turf Club’s meeting at Canfield to-day, tbe Canfield Guineas was won by Mr W. Pearson’s Frying-pan, Mr H. Barrett’s Boolka second, and Sir T. Elder’s. Guesswork third. Twelve horses was started, and the race was won easily/ : -■•'i-'f-
