The Timaru Cricket Club play their first outside match of the season against the Pleasant Point Cricket Club at the ground of the latter to-morrow. The Timaru players are Gr. Buchanan, H. B. Courtis, A. J. Fisher, W. J. Hughes, F. W. Jones, E., H. Lough, D. G, Maore, A. Parker, S. G, Raymond, M. J. Shepherd, and H. W. Smith. An express leaves the Bank of New Zealand corner, at 12.30 p.m. and proceeds to the Point, The other matches definitely arranged for by the Club are : Otaio at Timaru, Oct, 21; Burke’s Pass at Timaru, Oct. 24; Oamaru at Oamaru, Nov. 9 ; Auckland at Timaru, December (early). A number of otner matches with both the first and second elevens are in course of arrangement, the chief of which is a two days one, with the Gentlemen of England. The Auckland match will very probably also be a two days one, but, as yet, however, only a one day’s gome is arranged. From the foregoing list it is easily seen that the season will be one full of interest.
