THE SYDNEY FOOTBALL TEAM.

Auckland, Sept, 6. The Sydney football team- is a very light one, averaging under 12 stone. Though not the best that could have been picked (owing to some of the best men not being.able to spare the time necessary for the tour), it is nevertheless a good all-round combination, and the members themselves are satisfied that it will take some hard play to enable their opponents to score a victory. There are only six men in the present team who took part in the match against Queensland. The following are the particulars concerning the members '• Addison, G. G. (University), forward, a good dribbler. Barry, J. C., plays back for the University team, and also plays a good forward game. Bayles, H. M. (University), will play back for the team. He is a good longdrop kick, and runs and tackles well. Flynn, W. W. (University), quarter back for the team, is a strong runner, uses his hands well and k a good place kick.

Flegg, H.B. (‘Waterloo),quarter back and half back, runs and dodges well and kicks fairly. Graham, G. W. (Waterloo), plays anywhere and is a good man all round. Hankins, C. B. (Balmain), is a good forward and fast runner, and tackles well. He is one of the fastest men in the team.

Hill, B. B. (St. Leonards), is a good forward, and dribbles well. Howard, M. H. (Balmain), plays anywhere, but generally half or quarterback. He is a good dodger, and tackles well.

Jennings, C. (Glenheed), is a hard worker forward.

Mann, W. J. G. (University) is a good quarter-back, and a first-rate tackier.

Maclatcbie, A. H. (Barwood) is a good heavy forward and plays on the ball well.

Raper, E., captain of the University teacd, is also captain of this team. He is a strong heavy forward, uses his hands remarkably well, and is well Up in all points of the game. He also dribbles well.

Richmond, G. 8. (Waterloo!, is.a very good forward, and a difficult man to tackle when under weigh. Thalon, B. W. (Balmain), plays any. where. He tackles and kicks well.

Walker, O. W. (Redfern), is the drop, kick of the team. He is a sensational drop-kicker and runs well. He is a difficult to tackle, and also winds up his run with a long drop.
