MAGISTERIAL.
TIMARU—THIS DAY. (Before J. Beswick, Esq., 8.M.) LUNACY. Antonio Caliari, an Italian, (who wore a very dejected appearance) was charged with being of unsound mind. He was remanded to 12th inst for medical treatment. Thomas Adamson was charged with lunacy from drink. His Worship decided to send him to the Hospital it being understood that in the event of his becoming troublesome, he would be at once consigned to the gaol. VAGRANCY. Bichard Jackson was charged with sleeping on certain unoccupied premises belonging to Mr John Jackson. Accused had nothing to say for himself but promised not to offend again. His Worship cautioned and discharged him, telling him that on a repetition of the offence he would be severely dealt with. breach op licensing, act. Mr White asked His Worship whether be intended giving judgment (as arranged) in the test base of Taylor and Bowie for selling spirits without being duly licensed under the existing Act. His Worship intimated that the case would have to stand over till Tuesday next. The Court then rose.
