MYSTERIOUS DISAPPEARANCE.

A good deal of excitement was caused in town yesterday afternoon by the report that Mr Edward H. Tate, commission agent, had left his house on the previous morning and had not returned. It appears that Mr Tate went in the direction of Saltwater Creek, and as he was last seen by Mr Bennett in the vicinity of the railway viaduct, it was feared that something had happened to him. Diligent search was made for him yesterday and to-day, by the police and a large number of his friends. Enquiries were made at the houses Jn the neighborhood, but no trace of him ' could be fonnd. The Creek was dragged also, but up to the time of our going to press no trace of him had been discovered. Mr Bennett informed the police that Mr Tate was in an excited state when he saw him. Before going out in the morning, Mr Tate had complained of having a headache.
