The ’Frisco Mail Wellington, August 23
The Wanaka with the southern portion of the Frisco mail sailed at 11.30 this morning. Passengers—Captain and Mrs Cameron, Mr and Mrs Deryder and family,' Major Baillie, and Captain Baldwin; Messrs D. McKellar, J. PMcPherson, Herbert and Lowe.
Railway Agitation. Christchurch, August 23. A public meeting is to be held here on Friday next to urge upon Government the necessity of constructing a line of railway to the West Coast in preference to extending the Main North fine towards Blenheim.
