Melton J The Japanese warship Tsukuba hoisted the English flag on Saturday morning, and saluted with 21 guns. The volunteer battery responded in mistake with only seven guns. The Mayor informed Captain Kasama, that the Japanese flag would he hoisted and a full complement fired by the battery on Monday. The Chairman of the Harbor Board, the Mayor and Town Clerk paid an official visit to the vessel. There are no European officers aboard, but most of the officers speak English, and the crow are a smart body of men. She intended staying three weeks, but Captain Kasama received a cablegram on Saturday ordering the vessel home. She will leave for Yokohama next Saturday.
