Limit is currently stated here that a new Victorian Government loan of four millions will be issued shortly, and not, as announced by the Colonial Treasurer in his Financial Statement, in January nest. , . ;
LegalSydney, August 7. Application whs made to-day for a new trial in the case Messrs Goodiet and Smith v. the Secretary [for Public Works, in which a verdict for the plaintiffs for £87,716, compensation for land taken in Darling Harbor, was given in June last. A rule for a new trial was granted. A similar application was also made by the Hon. Jno. Lucas, but was refused.
