AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS AT HOME. [By Cable.] London, July 6. The Australian cricketers commenced their match against an eleven of Middlesex County at Lord’s ground to-day. The attendance at the match was only moderate, the weather being very inclement, and owing to the rain, play was stopped thrice during the day. The following are the names of the Home team :—Messrs 0. T. Studd, G, B. Studd, J. E. K. Studd, 0. F. H. 'Leslie, T. S. Pearson, I. D. Walker, A. J. Webbe, K. Borrowes, J. Robertson, S. Scotland Bui ton. TheMiddleaex team went in first, but owing to the heavy state of the wickets, and the splendid bowling of their opponents, they did not succeed in making a stand, and were all disposed of for a total of 104. The following are the individual scores •’—

Studd, bowled 0 Borrowes,t bowled .. ; ... ... 5 Burton, bowled ... 1 Robertson, not out ... 0 Total 104 The bowling of Garrett and Spofforth was much admired, both being in first rate form. Garrett took 5 wickets for 24 runs, and Spofforth 5 for 27. The Australians then went in for their first innings, and at the close of the day’s play had lost B wickets for 60 runs.
