(Per Press Association.) Schooner Ashore- , Auckland, July 5. The schooner Torea went ashore at , Kaipara during the. gale on Saturday ; night, by slipping her anchor in Wai- ‘ rba river, near North Head. She is in rooky ground under a high ciifE._ Her garboard streak on.the port side is ' damaged, causing the vessel to make , ! ; about four , feet of wate. ;No further damage has been done ; she .lies quite ■ safe with,.the present westerly wind. She is discharging her deck load and will kedge off to-morrow. ' - Body Found- ., The body of William Neil, lost in the bush at Dargavillo three months ago, was found in the creek. It was lying on its , face, with a large bundle 1 of nikan on the back, which had evidently prevented him from rising.
Arrived and" Sailed July 6. The Eangitikei, ship, from London, with 34 .passengers. All well. J. Cornish, ship’s butcher, died of drodsy on April 27th. Sailed—Janet McNeil, for Falmouth.
Stanmore Nomination. Christchurch, July 5.
At the nomination for Stanmore district at noon to-day; the following was the result of the show of hands Cowlishaw 70, Richardson 68, Pilliet 47. Mr Pilliet demanded a poll, • Mysterious DisappearanceAshbueton. July 5. Search parties were ont on Saturday and Sunday, to endeavor to find the ; missing man Anderson, but their efforts were unavailing. His disappearance is most mysterious. Anderson has frequently told his friends that some day he would disappear and never be found. Generous Sympathy in DunedinDunedin, July 6. . Nearly £4OO has been collected for the Kitcheners. Latek. The Kitcheners remain in about the same state.
