THE LATE CATASTROPHE.

[to the editor.]

Sir, —Mr Gollis made a slight mistake in his evidence at the inquest. There was no one to pilot us ; we led the way in, after waiting for the other boats, and were waiting for the Captain of the City of Perth, before we landed the ship’s property. Mr Gollis was ICO yards nearer the. first capsized boat than we were. We were hauling in the second man when our boat split up. Iu answer to Captain Sutter re salvage, we may say that Captain Mills asked us to stand by him. We also wish to state that the members of the Harbor Board have refused us the use of the lifeboat on previous occasions.—Yours, &c., Philip Bradley. W. Stanley Smith. Isaac Bradley. Michael Thompson.
