TIMARU—THIS DAY. (Before A. Ormoby Esq.) DRUNKENNESS AND VAGRANCY. John L. Smith, an old offender, was charged with drunkenness. A further charge was preferred against the same, of vagrancy and habitual drunkenness. The accused was remanded for one week for medical treatment. TEMUKA—THIS DAY. [Before J. Berwick, Esq. R.M.,) trespass. - Margaret Yelvin, for allowing 3 cows to wander oh the Amberley and Bluff Railway, was fined 15s and 2s towards witnesses’ expenses. W. H. Walton, for allowing his horse to wander on the railway was fined 5s and 2s towards expenses of a witness. K. F. Gray, for allowing two head of cattle to wander on the railway, was fined 10s, and 2s towards the expenses of a witness. Civil Cases. Franks v. Grant—This case was adjourned for fourteen days, and a number of other cases were settled out of Court.
