LEVELS ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary meeting of the Board was held this day. Present, Mc-b'r" McKerrow, Meo, and Sullivan. A letter was received from tho Mount Peel Road Board in reference to a cattle bridge over the Opihi. Resolved—“ That however much tlu

Board would wish to co-operate with the Mount Peel Board they do not feel justified in spending their rates on building the bridge.” A letter was read from Quinn Bros, asking the Board to give access to their land on the Brothers. Resolved—“ That as there is no road • laid ont to this land the Board do not feel called upon to lay out one, and that they should apply to Government.” A letter was read from Mr C. N. Orbell asking the Board to form the road up Rhodes’ Flat, The Overseer was requested to cal! for tenders. TENDEBS. The Overseer was requested to call for tenders for 200 yards of broken metal for the Main North Road, The following tenders were accepted —Contract No 23, John Cartwright, £11; No. 24 T. G. Crozier, £95 ; No. 25, same, £64. MISCELLANEOUS. The Overseer reported upon the cost of making the swamp road, and it was resolved that the road was* not sufficiently needed to justify such outlay. The Overseer also reported upon the cost of getting access to a portion of Mr Mayz’s land.—Resolved “That the Board do not feel justified in making a road through private land, as there is no road laid out.” The Overseer was instructed to have the road repaired at the back of Mr Hall’s property ; and to report on the state of the bridge leading to Mr Page’s-' also to give notice of the Board’s intention to strike a rate of 6d in the £ for the year 1882. ACCOUNTS, Accounts amounting to £202 were passed and ordered to be paid, and the meeting terminated.
