Many will regret to hear of the death of the. Rev W. P. Tanner, Incumbent of Invercargill who expired on Sunday. The Ponsonby Regatta in Auckland resulted in a weries of capsizes. Every body bad a ducking hut nobody was drowned.
Attention is directed to an advertisement in connection with Mrs Hampson's mission, which is iannounced to begin on Sunday evening m yet, in the Presbyterian Church,
Professo r Weston deemed it advisable to forego his Intention of giving a - performance in the, Theatre. Royal last night, owing to the inclement state of the weather. This evening however he will exhibit, and we advise all lovers of illusion to see him. ' ,
The holiday makers this Easter have been singularly unfortunate. The weather has been, so wet and sloppy as to cause many intending , travellers to remain at homeland to spoil .the enjoyment of the more adventurous of those who did venture forth*
Host people will be startled to hear that Hi.a Excellency has actually entrusted Sir Chcorge Grey with the task of forming a Cabinet. The Veteran Statesman “ will die with harness on' his back.” We may expect some changes in things generally now.
