His Excellency has issued an order, complimenting the Volunteers on their appearance, yesterday and thanking them for their attendance. The Oamaru and Timaru ' Volunteers, left this afternoon. The Hinemoa leaves for Wellington tomorrow.

Pir« at SwitzersDunedin, April 11. ■ A telegram to the “ Herald,” from Switzers, says :—“ Kelty and Co.'s large store and offices were destroyed by fire at 3 o’clock this' morning. The fire is supposed to have originated through the bursting of a kerosene lamp, left in the store. Very little stock or furniture was saved. The flames spread so rapidly that the occupants of the dwelling house barely had time to escape. The insurances are—National, £1900; Royal, £590.”
