SIR GEORGE GREY TO THE FRONT. [By Telegraph.] Wellington, April II : His Excellency the Governor has sent for Sir George Grey, and he arrived at Auckland last night. Later. Christchurch, April 10. It is now positively known that His Excellency the Governor has sent for Sir George Grey. The Governor leaves for Wellington about noon to-day. Auckland, April 10. Sir George has been sent for by the Governor, and arrived in Auckland at a late hour last night, and proceeds to Wellington by the Wanaka to-day at one o’clock. The Rose Casey left yesterday morning for Waiwera with a number of excursionists. After landing them she proceeded on to Kawau with Turby, ’ the officer in charge of the Telegraph Department, who was in'charge Of ah important missive for Sir George Girey. Immediately on receipt of this, Sir George Grey embarked in the steamer, for Auckland, arriving at ten o’clock. Sir George appears in good health. Endeavors were made by the Telegraph Department to charter a steamer on Sunday to proceed to Hawaii;' bat, astute skippers sniffing important Government business on hand, raised their terms to such an extent that negotiations fell through. Fatby therefore availed himself of the excursion trip of the Bose Casey to accomElish his mission. Sir George Grey as been sent for by his Excellency,, who asks him to proceed to Wellington. Beyond that, Sir George Grey is nob aware of anything which the public does not know. Mr Hall, in sending in his resignation, did not accompany it with any advice, and the Hoh. Mr Johnston, who was the bearer of -the communication, conld not offer any on behalf of the Premier.
