LEVELS ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Board was held to-day—Present Messrs W. Moody (Chairman) Mee, McKerrow, Sullivan, and Frew. The Board discussed the petition form road through Sandie Town to, Otipua road. Eesolved—“ That a committee consisting of Messrs McKerrow Mee and the Chairman be appointed to inquire into the matter.”
A deputation consisting of Messrs Kimber and Whitaker waited on the Board and asked to have the town belt formed the whole width.. They were informed that the Board would consider the matter. .
It was resolved —“That the Board take the opinion of the Solicitor as to the position of the Board respecting the* town belt, and the deputation be iniformed of this at once.’’ Resolved—“ That Mr Jameson be appointed Solicitor to the Board.” A letter from George Butler asking the Board to continue the formation of road Worn .his house to thelriver, was read. The Overseer to report upon the same at next meeting. A letter was received from Messrs Bracefield and others asking the Board to form the road known as the Swamp Road. The Overseer to report at next meeeting on the cost of same. .. Mr Maze applied to have a road made to his property on the Brothers, as the surveyed road was quite impracticable. He was willing to give a road. The Overseer to inspect the same and report at next meeting. Mr Stubbs applied for the use of the valuation roll, to make a copy for the Geraldine County Council. Resolved—.“ That the rolls must be copied in this Office, and not to be taken away.” The Overseer’s Report was then read, and the following works were ordered to be done
Road from Briggs’ Gully to the Beach Road to be formed and shingled. Tenders to be called for next meeting.
Repairs to Woodlands Road were ordered to be done. Fencing in: LeCren street to be done also.
Tenders to be called for painting and tarring the Tengawai Bridge. The remainder of the stono on the Wai-iti Road to be broken.
Accounts amounting to £95 Is 5d were passed and ordered to be paid. The Board then adjourned.
