SALE OF THE OTAGO RUNS.

: The sale of the Otago runs was concluded yesterday, and resulted in a total" being realised of £68,854, which is nearly double the upset, the amount of the latter being £37,216. The lowest price... obtained was the upset of for 5500 acres, a sale that was greeted with, congratulatory applause. The buyers were solely of the runholding class, am'. , it remains as a result of the sale that only in one case has what might be termed a small settler secured a run. Indeed, so far as could be ascertained,,: the bidding was mainly confined to the runholding class. The total result of the sale is—price realised, £68,854; present rentals, £24,659 ; upsets, £37,216; three runs oat of 170 unsold.
