DISCOVERY OF A SKELETON.
On Thursday it was reported to the Goldsborough (Westland) police by a miner named Joseph Gfossi that while working with his mates they found the skeleton of a man at the boottom of a shaft 15 feet deep, which until recently had been full of water. The shaft is situated at Fox’s. From inquiries made by the police it is believed the remains are those of a miner named Dominion Borserini, whose hut was situated about 30 yards from the shaft where the bones were discovered. Mr Muller, storekeeper at Fox’s, states that on September,, 18th, 1877, Borserini’s hut, together with all its contents was destroyed by fire,and since that date the man had not been coon. Mr Muller states that he held a mortgage over Borserini’s claim for £IOO, and ho imagined that Borserini had gone av in order to escape payment of the moiir.y he owed. The shin bones were in a pair of knee boots, which have been identified as his make by a bootmaker named Michael Fitzgibbons, living at Goldsborough. The police are prosecuting further inquiries,
