PRESENTATION TO THE REV. G. BARCLAY.

A meeting was held in the Institute at Geraldine on Tuesday to give practical form to a proposal to collect subscriptions to provide a testimonial to the Rev. G. Barclay, who is about to visit the Old Country for the purpose of undergoing an operation for the restoration of his sight. There was a good attendance, and the Chairman, Mr Angus McDonald, arid other gentlemen referred to the high estimation in which Mr Barclay was held, as a minister of the gospel and as one who was always ready to lend his powerful helping hand to further good cause. An influential committee was appointed, with power to add to their number,: and Mr McDonald was appointed Treasurer, and Mr W. Gunn Secretary, Subscription lists will ho prepared and distributed to collectors in the centres of population in the district and we feel sure that in a very short time a substantial sum will be raised. There is scarcely a person in the County of Geraldine who is more widely known or more highly respected than Mr Barclay, and all who know him will feel a real pleasure in contributing in any degree to relieve him of the very serious misfortune from which he has for some time suffered.
