CONFIRMATION SERVICE.
A very impressive service was held in the,Roman Catholic Church in Timara yesterday morning, when His Lordship Bishop Redwood performed the 1 rite'of confirmation in the case of some sixty young persons both sexes. There was a large congregation, the chrirch b&rig filled. Mass was conducted by the Rev. Father Chataigoer, several amateur vocalists from other churches lending their,, aid in the choral passages. Among these were the , “Eyrie," “ Gloria,” and “ Sanctus ” of Mozart’s Twelfth Mass ; the “ Credo,” from Weber’s Mass in : G ; and the “ Agnna Dei ” and “ Dona Nobis " from Fanner, inß. Instead of a sermon the Bishop delivered an impressive address to the young candidates ~ for confirmation, which, explaining the origin abd mean. ing of tho rite',was most interesting to the whole congregation.. The young people seated together, the girls in white dresses and veils, and the boys all well dressed, looked very pretty. The whole service was a most impressiveone apd will -'not soon be forgotten by- ; those who took part in it. In the evening His Lordship preached to a large congregation.
