Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under Saturday, Jan. 21. For Northern Ports of New Zealand, per Wanaka, at 2.60 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25. For AustralianColonies,United Kingdom, &c., per Arawata, at 4 p.m.
The next English and European mail Via San Francisco, will close at this office on Saturday, 28th inst. Correspondence lor United Kingdom ,&c., Via Australian Colonies must be specially addressed and paid 8d per. half ounce. (Signed) . Ed. Cook, Chief Postmaster.
