The-takings of the Englishmen at Oamaru during the two days they played there were just £SO. ' The body of the man Magner, who left his home at Sydenham on Sunday .last, was found yesterday in a gully in the Port Hills. He had cut his throat with a razor, and apparently died instantaneously. The English cricketers left Timaru for Christchurch by the first train this morning. If the weather at Christchurch to-day resembles that here, the cricketers will not look forward very hopefully for to-morrow. We reprint elsewhere a short description of the Christchurch eighteen.
