THE GENERAL ELECTION.

DE FISHEE AT PAEEORA. Our Pareora correspondent informs ns that Dr Fisher’s meeting at the Parora school-house last evening collapsed. Dr Fisher attended in accordance with his notice, and a number of electors went to hear his views. Mr Aplin, a resident of Kingsdown, was voted to the chair. Dr Fisher commenced his address, and presently referred to some remarks made by Captain Sutter, one of his opponents, in the course of one of his speeches. The Chairman objected to the Doctor’s remarks as personal, whereupon a general discussion took place as to whether or no they were so. This continued some time and at length Dr Fisher expressed his determination not to proceed with his address and the meeting broke up.
