MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office Timaru, for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : Saturday, Dec. 3. For Northern Forts of New Zealand, per Wanaka, at 2.50 p.m. For the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, the Continent of Europe, America, Africa, and the Sandwich Islands, and Mediterranean Ports, as follows ; Money orders, registered letters, and newspapers, at 1.30 p.m. Ordinary letters at 2,30 p.m,. _ Late fee letters will be received at the Chief Post Office till 2.50 p.m., and at the Railway Travelling Post Office mail van (Northern Express Train) till 3.20 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6. For Chatham Islands, per Omaha, at 6 a.m.
The Stella will leave Bluff for West Coast Sounds on the 12th inst. (Signed) Ed. Cook, Chief Postmaster. Chief Post Office, Timaru, Dec, 2, 1881.
