[Reuter's Agencv.l Outrages in the Islands* Brisbane, Nov. 8. News has been received here reporting that attacks have recently been made by natives in strong force upon the fishing stations at Flinders’ Island and Knight Island, near the coast to the north of Cape Melville. At the former place the natives were completely repulsed, but the station at Knight Island •was destroyed, and firearms were carried oif. It is feared that Mrs Watson, wife of one of the owners of a Beche-de-mer fishing station on Lizard Islands, has been murdered by the natives, who, it is believed, attacked and plundered the station on 26th ult., and carried off Mrs Watson and her children during the absence of her husband and his partner. Search parties which were despatched from Cooktown to examine the neighboring islands have not as yet found any traces of them.
