[Reuter’s Aqenoy.j London, Nov. 3. It has transpired that the negotiations which have been proceeding at Paris for a renewal of the Anglo-French commercial treaty, were suspended on Friday last, when the discussion of the various clauses of the proposed treaty was concluded without any definite agreement being arrived at. It has further transpired that Sir Charles Dilke and his colleagues, the British delegates, are returning to London, pending further instructions from Government as to the future course to be pursued. Nov. 1.
Consols, 90£. New Zealand securities are unchanged. The market rate of discount has been reduced to 4 per cent. Tne Bank rate remains at 5 per cent. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, is quoted at 425; Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 575; New Zealand wheat, ex store, 545. Australian tallow —Best beef, 38s; best mutton, dls. The London Stock exchange is closed to day. Lord North has been appointed a Judge of the English High Court of J nstice. Nov. 2. The Irish Land Sub-Commission gave its first decision to-day on one of the questions brought before it for settlement, viz., an application by a tenant under the fair rent provisions of the Land Act. The decision of the Commission was in favor of the tenant’s application, and fixed a reduced rent for his holding. Nov. 3. The London Chartered Bank of Australia has declared a dividend of 5 per cent for the past half-year, and carries £IO,OOO to the reserve fund. Berlin, Nov. 2. The German Government has instituted a prosecution against the autiJewish organ. Die lieichsvherold, for publishing articles with the object of fomenting the feeling against the Jews in Germany.
