LATE CABLE NEWS.

[Special to Melbourne “ Argus]*” (Per City of New York at Auckland.) London, Oct 5. Agrarian outrages are again becoming numerous in Ireland. A farmer at Rathbone has been murdered because he persisted in paying his rent to a landlord. At Kanturk, in the County Cork, a laborer for supplying a farmer who had been Boycotted, has himself been Boycotted. A murderous assault was also made on the farmer, who was mortally wounded. Several prisoners apprehended under the Irish Coercion Act, and who were incarcerated in Bridewell, at Athlone, have been released, and sinee their freedom they have received an ovation at the hands of friends and the members of tbe Land League. Intelligence has been received from Tunis to the effect that the Arab insurgents have come into collision with the array of the Bey, and that a battle was fought. After severe fighting, the nsurgents defeated the Tunisian troops and routed them with considerable loss. The insurgents followed up their victory by wrecking the railway line and ravaging the surrounding districts by slaughter and fire. It is reported that in one conflagration 12 persons were burnt alive, and that amongst the victims of the insurgents’ revenge are several British subjects. The newest and largest of the Peninsular and Oriental Company’s mail boats, the Rome, will leave Gravesend on Oct. 4, upon her first voyage to Australia.
