We remind those interested of the special convocation of the Royal Arch Chapter of the L.0.L., No. 13, this evening. Mr F. W. Stubbs has been appointed Registrar of Electors for the Gladstone district. A fish hawker was yesterday fined 5s at Lyttelton for selling flounders under nine inches long. It is absolutely necessary'’, if the fish in the colonial waters are to he preserved from extinction, or from such diminution of their numbers that their scarcity will make them unavailable for the open market, that the fishing laws should enforced. The above case was the first of the kind, and was intended as a warning.
