THE NATIVE DIFFICULTY.
Tlie special correspondent of the “ Ljtt?lton Times,” telegraphing from Okato last night saysA muster of the Okato volunteers was held to-day, Captain Bailey commanding; After parade a meeting was held to consider the position with respect to the Maori scare, when meeting places for the Company were arranged in the event oi any sudden emergency arising. The feeling exhibited at the meeting was that of a determination to take the law into their own hands and bring matters to an issue if the Government did net shortly take decisive steps. The settlers say they are sick of inaction and suspense.
