A meeting of persons interested in the opening of a new thoroughfare westward from Timaru is to be held at 3.30 tomorrow, at Mr J. Granger’s offices.

A Caretaker and Librarian is wanted for the Geraldine Literary Institute. A musical treat is promised to the people of Timaru on Monday and Tuesday evenings next, it being renounced Herr Benno Scherek, with the assistance of a small but talented company, will give a couple of concerts on those evenings. Herr Scherek recently concluded a three years engagement as conductor to Madame Camilla Urso’s company, and has since been engaged as conductor to the Dunedin Choral Society, in which capacity he won golden opinions from the people of that city.
